In February 2025, I spent five days at the Winter School for Bachelor’s Students at Innopolis University.

The programme brought together senior undergraduate students and graduates from technical universities. It included lectures and workshops across software engineering, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and related areas, alongside an introduction to the university’s master’s programmes.

At the time, I was studying Control in Technical Systems at Moscow Polytechnic. Most of my practical experience was connected with automation, embedded systems and the City Farm project, so the school was an opportunity to look at a broader range of software-engineering directions in a concentrated environment.

It came at a useful point in my bachelor’s studies: I was starting to think more seriously about what I wanted to study after graduation.

The visit did not determine that choice on its own, but it became one of several experiences that gradually moved my attention from individual control systems toward software and systems engineering.

The university’s announcement provides more context about the Winter School at Innopolis University.
