Starting my MSc at HSE University
I joined HSE University's MSc in System and Software Engineering, continuing my move toward infrastructure and systems integration.
On 25 August 2026, I officially became a master’s student at HSE University.
I joined the MSc in System and Software Engineering at HSE University at the Faculty of Computer Science on a state-funded place.
My bachelor’s background was in control systems, but by graduation much of the engineering work I found most interesting was already happening at the boundaries between components: Linux infrastructure, communication between devices and software, service integration and system architecture.
By that point, I was increasingly interested in infrastructure, software architecture and systems integration. The master’s programme gave me a way to develop that direction further within software engineering.
The move to HSE is therefore less a complete change of field than a change of abstraction level: from making software and hardware work together to making software components and infrastructure work together reliably.
